Herzliche Einladung zur Ausstellung

Aus Anlass des 13. International Computer Festival Maribor vom 10. - 15.5.2007 zeigt die ESC Medienkunst aus Slowenien. Das Festival wird vom MKC Maribor organisiert; die Programmauswahl wird von wechselnden international tätigen KuratorInnen getroffen. Bereits zum 4. Mal zeigt die ESC im Anschluss an das Festival aktuelle Medienkunst aus Slowenien, diesmal ausgewählt von Jasmina Zaloznik.

13th INTERNATIONAL COMPUTER ART FESTIVAL WHERE THERE ARE COMPUTERS, THERE IS LIFE: ON CONTINGENCY, ERROR AND CHANCE

Nowadays, artists ? at least in a part of their creative process, production or expression ? use computers in all artistic forms and practises. Most do not use them to explore the limits and possibilities of technology, but merely for pragmatic reasons, and only to the extent that is absolutely necessary. Nonchalance in using technology has broader social and political consequences, which are reflected in the fact that we have lost the war. The digital reality is ever-more similar to the corporate one; although the practices of the free delivery of information and creativity increase in number, the intensity of ideological discourse, which would reflect the ?new morality? from the digital to the everyday material, is diminishing all the time.
