Nach einem Busunglück wacht die Mutter Naoko im Körper der
toten Tochter Naomi auf. Ehemann Heisuke ist verwirrt und
sie beschließen das Geheimnis innerhalb der eigenen vier
Wände zu behalten.<br>

<p>So wie 2002 der Höhepunkt des koreanischen Kinos war, war das
Jahr 1999 für mich der Höhepunkt des modernen japanischen
Filmes. 1999 war das Jahr in dem <b>Kiyoshi Kurosawa</b> seine drei
beste Filme
gemacht hat, bevor er wieder in die Untiefen des Billig-Genrefilmes
abgestiegen ist: <a
href="http://www.filmfestivals.com/cannes99/html/quinzaine14.htm">Charisma</a>
in Cannes, mein Favorit <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0210200/">Barren
Illusions</a> und <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0197730/">License
to Live</a>. (Liefen alle im KIZ.) Neben Himitsu gab es auch noch <a
href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206216/">Railroad Man</a>, Takeshi
Kitano's Kindergeschichte <a
href="http://www.filmfestivals.com/cannes99/html/seloff22.htm">Kikujiro</a>,
und Sabu's Klassiker <a
href="http://www.filmfestivals.com/cannes99/html/quinzaine5.htm">M/Other</a>.<br>
2000 war dann der beste japanische Film <a
href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0243889/">Eureka</a> von <span
style="font-weight: bold;">Shinji Ayoama</span> in Cannes der
heimliche
Favorit. Nur ist es schwer einen fast 4 Stunden langen Film und ist er
noch so gut nach Graz ins Kino zu bekommen. Auch der zweite Cannes Film
2000 <a
href="http://www.filmfestivals.com/cannes_2000/parallel/regard_nichiyobi.htm">Sunday's
Dream</a> ist neben <span style="font-style: italic;">Eureka</span>
ein Space Movie Kandidat.

<p><img style="width: 340px; height: 182px;" class="left"
src="0602/himitsu154204.jpg" alt="Ryoko" align="left">Himitsu ist wie
die besten asiatischen Filme nicht vorhersehbar. Eine wilde Genre-
Achterbahn, die Atom Egoyan's <i>"The Sweet Hereafter"</i> und den
typisch japanischen Geisterfilm nur zum willkommenen Anlass nimmt,
endlich in die warmherzige Geschichte der unmöglichen Liebe von
Vater zu Tochter bzw. Mutter im Körper der Tochter einzutauchen,
alle dramatischen Genreregeln zu verlassen, und in dem Anti-Drama etwa
eines <b>Hirokaze Kore-Eda</b> die spannenden Geschichten des Alltags
dahinter zu studieren. In Kore-Eda's <i>"After Live"</i> (1998) etwa
hat ein Filmteam im Himmel allerhand zu tun hat, um die letzten
Erinnerungen der neu Eingetroffenen auf Zelluloid zu bannen. Der
Schluß ist dann wieder großes Melodrama mit hohem Taschentuch Faktor.
Vor lauter Glück und Mitgefühl. Hirosue Ryoko ist inzwischen ein so
großer Star, daß ein französisches Remake von Himitsu
für das nächste Jahr vorgesehen ist. --Reini Urban</p>
<p>After a fatal
bus accident, a mother wakes up to discover that she's taken
possession of her daughter's body. Grieving husband Heisuke is more
than confused-and can't get used to seeing his beloved wife Naoko's
funloving personality in the cute form of his daughter Naomi. Heisuke
and Naoko decide to keep up appearances as father and daughter, and
embark on a secret life that brings as many laughs as tears in this
tragicomedy of mistaken identity.</p>
