The Silver Wave Radio Festival is organized for the fourth time by Television World Foundation, as part of Television World 2003 International Media Events. 2. The main purpose of the festival is to present the Bulgarian radio production, to juxtapose different radio formats, to create a competitive environment both for the production of the radio stations and the independent producers. 3. The competition is open to all licensed radio stations and independent producers. 4. The participants in the Silver Wave Radio Festival are competing in the following categories: News and information programme (morning, evening, weekly) News Investigative journalism programme Comment and analysis programme Report Business programme Arts programme Talk show Music programme Comedy show Sports programme Best promo spot Quiz show Ethnic minority groups problem discussion programme Public service broadcast TERMS OF PARTICIPATION 1. The competing programmes must have been broadcast after 1 June 2002 and must not have been previously shown on the festival. 2. The entrants are allowed a single presentation in each of the categories, except for the News and Information Programme (morning, evening, weekly) Category where each candidate can participate with three respective presentations (morning, evening, weekly). 3. Each additional programme requires a separate entry form and an entry tax. 4. Each entrant should fill in a 10-line text describing the programme and promoting its application. 5. The entries in the Best Promo Spot Category should be a preliminary compilation of up to 3 minutes. 6. If a programme meets the requirements of several categories the entrant should choose the category that represents them best. 7. Working languages of the festival Bulgarian and English. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. The programmes should not be longer than 60 minutes. 2. The programmes should be sent for a preliminary selection on two CDs with a studio recording. Where CDs are not available, on three audiocassettes. 3. The carriers must have labels with the name of the radiostation, the programme and the category. 4. Each programme should start with a sound signal announcing the radio station, the category it participates in, the name of the programme, the author, the producer as well as the programme duration in minutes. The programme passport the 10-line text should state the date and hour of transmission of the programme as well as the hosts and participants 5. Programmes that have been edited in advance or compilations of different shows will not be accepted. 6. In case the programme exceeds the duration set by the reglament, the entrant should present only that part of it which has reached the listeners. The end of the programme must be marked. 7. The filled in entry forms should be sent together with the competing programmes. 8. The submission of an entry form will mean an agreement with the abovementioned requirements. 9. The entry forms should not be sent later than 30 April. 10. The radio stations that have submitted their applications before that deadline will be included in the catalogue of Television World 2003 International Media Events. JURY 1. The submitted programmes will undergo a preliminary selection. 2. The approved ones will be notified in writing. 3. A professional jury will assess the programmes admitted to the competition. 4. The entrants will be acquainted with the jurys criteria. AWARDS 1. Awards will be granted in each category. 2. The Silver Wave Grand Prix is given to the best radio-station, host, producer PARTICIPATION FEES Participation with one programme in one category 100 EURO Additional programme 60 EURO Participation in Category - Best Promo Spot 60 EURO. ACCREDITATIONS Every Radio organisation or independent producer can send representatives to the Media Events at their expense. The registration fee entitles the accredited person to a case of information and catalogues, an access to the respective event and all the other festivals, markets, seminars and cocktails. The accredited person can attend the opening and closing ceremonies of the Events. The accredited person gets a 20 % discount at the partner restaurants of the International Media Events 2003 in Albena. Accreditation fee: ( For 7 days - 130 EURO per person when the fee is paid by 20 May 2003; After that the fee is 150 EURO per person for an unlimited duration. ( For 3 days - 100 EURO access to all the events within these three days ( For 1 day - 50 EURO no entry in the catalogue. HOTEL RESERVATION The Festival organisers can book hotel rooms for the guests at preferential prices and a preliminary request filed not later than 20 May 2003. While the number of hotels in Albena is considerable those by the beach and the Events are few. The reservations that have been paid first will be treated with priority. The deadline for the hotel reservation requests at preferential prices is 20 May. BANK INFORMATION The payment may be done by a credit card or by a bank transfer.
