Summary: only IPv4 is implemented

Initial Comment:
the RFC speaks of several ip-types:
IPv4, IPv6, IPv4_gzip, IPv6_gzip

currently both transmitter and receiver only implement IPv4

however, if the receiver would receive a non-IPv4 packet, it would try to decode it as IPv4, which is a grave bug (though seldomly triggered)
