Als Akteure in Cytters Videos und live Performances tritt ein Kollektiv an Freunden und Freundinnen, Künstler-<BR>kolleg_innen, Schauspieler_innen und Tänzer_innen auf, die über die Jahre wiederholt in Erscheinung treten. Obwohl allen Arbeiten ein Drehbuch als Vorlage dient, gibt es einen gemeinschaftliche Akt, der sich im Laufe der Produktion jeder Arbeit entwickelt, in dem die „realen“ und „performten“ Persönlichkeiten der Charaktere bewusst ineinander übergehen. Daneben ist Cytter eine Autorenfilmerin, die selbst mannigfaltige Rollen „performt“, nämlich Regisseurin, Kamerafrau, Cutterin, Choreografin und Schriftstellerin. Während der Produktion überlässt sie gerne einiges dem Zufall und agiert zugleich als eine Art Voyeurin gegenüber den Situationen, deren Strippen sie selbst zog.<BR><BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;font-weight: bold;text-decoration:underline;" >Kathy Noble</SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" > ist eine in London lebende Kuratorin und Kritikerin. Aktuell kuratiert sie am Institute of Contemporary Arts mit „Art Night” ein neues Festival mit ortsspezifischen Arbeiten u.a. von Alexandra Bachzetsis, Linder, Joan Jonas und Jason Moran. Von 2013-2014 war sie Residence-Kuratorin am Wysing Arts Centre und arbeitete mit Künstler_innen wie Cecile B Evans, Rachel Maclean and James Richards. Zuvor realisierte Sie als Chefkuratorin bei Nottingham Contemporary Ausstellungen mit Asco, Geoffrey Farmer, Mark Leckey und Tala Madani. Von 2007-2012 war sie als Kuratorin an der Tate Modern verantwortlich für zahlreiche Ausstellungen und Performances, u.a. große Auftragsarbeiten von Tania Bruguera, Michael Clark, Keren Cytter, Haris Epaminonda und Sung Hwan Kim. Sie schreibt international für Kunstzeitschriften wie „Artforum” und „Mousse Magazine”, hat eine Vielzahl an Katalogessays publiziert und ist Kuratorin der Michael Clark Company.<BR><BR><BR>--<BR><BR><BR>01-09-<BR>2016 -6pm<BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;font-weight: bold;" >Lecture by Kathy Noble<BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;font-weight: bold;text-decoration:underline;" >Got to be Real</SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" ><BR><BR>The lecture will focus on the use of performers and performance in Keren Cytter’s work. The characters in Cytter’s videos and live performances are a mix of friends, fellow artists, actors and dancers, many of whom reappear repeatedly over the years. Although each work is scripted, there is a collaborative act that occurs during each work’s making, where the character’s “real” and “performed” selves merge purposefully. Alongside this, Cytter is an auteur “performing” multiple roles herself; of director, camera person, editor, choreographer and writer —yet during making she also leaves much to chance, acting as a kind of voyeur onto the situations she has masterminded.<BR><BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;font-weight: bold;text-decoration:underline;" >Kathy Noble</SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" > is a curator and writer based in London, currently working with the Institute of Contemporary Arts to curate “Art Night,“ a new festival of site-specific works, including Alexandra Bachzetsis, Linder, Joan Jonas and Jason Moran. She was curator in residence at Wysing Arts Centre in 2013-2014 where she worked with artists including Cecile B Evans, Rachel Maclean and James Richards. Prior to this she was Head of Exhibitions at Nottingham Contemporary where she organised exhibitions with Asco, Geoffrey Farmer, Mark Leckey and Tala Madani. From 2007-2012 she was a curator at Tate Modern, where she organised numerous commissions, exhibitions and performances, including major commissions with Tania Bruguera, Michael Clark, Keren Cytter, Haris Epaminonda and Sung Hwan Kim.
