Woven? Entering the (sub)Textiles</SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" > präsentierten Arbeit ihren künstlerischen Umgang mit unterschiedlichen Materialien, ihren ästhetischen wie funktionalen Implikationen wie den Verschiebungen alltäglich sich verändernder Umgebungen und Lebensbedingungen oder Kontextwechsel hin zu Mode oder Kunst. Besonderes Augenmerk richtet die Künstlerin hierbei auf die Eigenheiten von Material und Produktion, und dem Kontext der daraus hervorgehenden Objekte und deren Distribution. Aus den Erkundungen der Grenzen der Disziplinen und Blicken hinter die digitalen Oberflächen der Gegenwart nähren sich ebenfalls ihre Praxisfelder.<BR>Die in Wien geborene und lebende Künstlerin Anna-Sophie Berger studierte Modedesign und Transdisziplinäre Kunst an der Universität für angewandte Kunst in Wien. Die Künstlerin zeigte ihre Arbeiten kürzlich in Einzelpräsentationen auf der Frieze NY, im Ausstellungsraum Ludlow 38 und bei JTT ebenfalls in New York, sowie bei Mauve, 21er Haus und wellwellwell in Wien. Entering the (sub)Textiles</SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" >, the young artist </SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-weight: bold;text-decoration:underline;" >Anna-Sophie Berger</SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" > positions her work with different materials, along with their aesthetic and functional implications—such as the shifting of environments and living conditions that change every day or contexts that alter—all the way to fashion or art. Here, the artist focuses in particular on the idiosyncrasies of material and production, as well as the context from whence the objects stem and are distributed. Her fields of practice are nurtured by explorations of the boundaries between the disciplines and looking behind today’s digital surfaces.<BR>Born in Vienna, the artist lives there now. She studied fashion design and trans-disciplinary art at the Universität für angewandte Kunst in Vienna. Recently, the artist’s work was seen in solo shows at Frieze NY, the exhibition space Ludlow 38, at JTT (also in New York City), and at Mauve, 21er Haus, and wellwellwell in Vienna.
