Stefanie Posarnig (*1955 in Klagenfurt) kreist seit langem um die Begriffe
Signal/Zeichen, Ge-/Verbot, Kontrolle, Autorität und den sogenannten
öffentlichen Raum. Seine im Sinne einer unbekannten Autorität angebrachten
Aufkleber und Tafeln stellen provokant-witzige Fragen und geben teilweise
absurde Anweisungen. Dabei macht es keinen Unterschied, ob diese Zeichen
weltlichen, oder spirituellen Ursprungs sind, wie etwa das hier gezeigte Kreuz,
ursprünglich ein Folterwerkzeug, drappiert mit Plüschtieren.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0mm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align:

150%;font-family:Arial;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial">Als Künstler in einer Tradition
der kritischen Hinterfragung der „Realität“ und ihrer Segnungen stehend, zielen
viele seiner Arbeiten auf ein immer enger werdendes gesellschaftliches Korsett
aus Regeln, Kontrolle und Normen.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0mm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align:

150%;font-family:Arial;mso-bidi-font-family:Arial">Einige der hier gezeigten
Werke bestehen aus Folien-Abfall der beim Ausstanzen von Verkehrszeichen
übriggeblieben ist. Verkehrsschilder mahnen zur Einhaltung einer maximalen
Geschwindigkeit, geben Richtungen vor und sollen Orientierung schaffen. Durch
die Zerstückelung und neue Zusammensetzung der Schildfragmente wird die
Leserichtung bei den Bildern von Posarnig durcheinandergebracht und lassen den
Blick des Betrachters umherwirbeln. Gleichzeitig wirft die retroflektierende
Folie den Blick des Betrachters auf sich selbst zurück. Die spielerische
Leichtigkeit und die komplett pervertierte Aussage dieser neuen Schilder
erinnern uns daran, dass auch ihre korrekten und amtlichen Brüder keine
endgültige Versicherung gegen Unwägbarkeiten aller Art sind und uns oft in
einer falschen Sicherheit wiegen lassen. Die Arbeiten sind letztlich als ein
Aufruf nach mehr Freiheit und weniger Kontrolle, aber auch nach mehr
Eigenverantwortung zu lesen. Denn nicht jede amtlich vorgegebene Richtung führt
notwendigerweise an das gewünschte Ziel.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0mm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align:

Spiegeln wird umlagert von einer krebsartig expandierenden Masse niedlich
kleiner Stofftiere. Doch auch dieser Plüsch-Traum kann nicht über den
absurd-beängstigenden Tresor hinwegtäuschen, an dessen Innenwänden zwei Spiegel
angebracht sind, der in geschlossenen Zustand mutmaßlich nur schwarze Leere ins
