Während „Chat Jet (Part 1)“ aufzuzeigen versuchte, welcher Medien, Strukturen und Oberflächen sich Malerei mitunter bedient, widmet sich </SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;text-decoration:underline;" >Chat Jet (Part 2) – Skulptur in Reflexion</SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;" > </SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 12px;" >als zweiter Teil und in inhaltlicher Anknüpfung nun aktuellen Skulpturbegriffen.<BR><BR>Auch hier stehen Idee, Kontext und nicht die Handwerklichkeit im Vordergrund. Ausgehend vom Readymade als künstlerischer Auseinandersetzung mit alltäglichen (Konsum-)Objekten oder der Verwendung von industriellen Verfahren und Materialien, werden im Sinne einer Erweiterung des autonomen Skulpturbegriffs Malerei, Film, Video sowie unterschiedlichstes digitales Quell-Material als gleichwertige Bestandteile von Skulptur genauso mitgedacht und verwendet, wie eine reflexive Praxis gegenüber dem Ausstellungsraum und darüber hinausreichenden philosophischen und medialen Diskursen mitaufgeführt wird. Wie sich dann Skulptur überhaupt – seit die Theorie den Begriff selbst infrage stellt und dem generell starken Rechtfertigungsdruck singulärer Kunstgattungen unterliegt – als dennoch immergrüne künstlerische Ausdrucksform abgrenzen und festlegen kann, wenn sie sich diesen größeren medialen Herausforderungen aussetzt bzw. ausgesetzt wird, ist wesentlicher Teilaspekt in der Konzeption der Ausstellung Chat Jet (Part 2) – Skulptur in Reflexion. <BR>
Wer heute mit Skulptur arbeitet, stellt sich den Fragen skulpturaler Darstellungsmittel und fördert aktiv und exemplarisch deren stete Neuerschließung. Die mannigfaltige Arbeit und Auseinandersetzung mit dem schier unendlichen Repertoire an Formen, Materialien, (Kunst-)Geschichten sowie deren Verfügbarkeit, die Vielfalt von Bezügen und Referenzen bei zunehmend fliehender Auflösung von einstigen klar definierten Abhängigkeitsverhältnissen zwischen Trägermedium und Kunstproduktion – Stichwort das Readymade in Zeiten seiner kostengünstigen dreidimensionalen Reproduzierbarkeit durch 3D-Drucker – führen zu für die Ausstellung wichtigen Fragen: Was bedeuten diese Veränderungen der Netzwerk-Bedingungen digitaler Kultur für Objekte generell und wie kann Skulptur in einer virtuellen Welt weiter relevant bleiben? Dabei dennoch immer noch auf Grundsatzfragen skulpturaler Ansätze zurückzukommen – wie etwas gemacht oder geformt ist, welche künstlerischen Entscheidungen getroffen wurden und warum die eingehende Betrachtung von Skulptur den nachhaltigen Wunsch jene zu berühren fördert – erscheint hier brisant und lohnend zu überprüfen.<BR><BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 12px;text-decoration:underline;" >CMRK<BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 12px;" >Am 05.06. eröffnen ab 18:00 weitere Ausstellungen im CMRK-Netzwerk, das aus vier unabhängigen Institutionen für zeitgenössische Kunst in Graz besteht: Camera Austria, Künstlerhaus KM–, Halle für Kunst & Medien, < rotor > und Grazer Kunstverein. After the first exhibition attempted to show the media, structures and surfaces that painting occasionally uses, </SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 12px;font-weight: bold;text-decoration:underline;" >Chat Jet (Part 2) – Sculpture in Reflection</SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 12px;" > now dedicates itself to current sculptural concepts.<BR><BR>Here too, the focus is on ideas and context and not on the craft. Based on the readymade, the artistic exploration of everyday (consumer) objects or the use of industrial processes and materials, in the sense of an extension of autonomous sculpture, today painting, film, video and the most varied digital source material are just as much thought of and used as equally important components of sculpture as a reflexive practice with regard to the exhibition space and the philosophical and media discourse that goes beyond it is included in the show.
<BR>Since theory has called the concept itself into question and the generally powerful pressure for the self-justification of individual art genres, an essential component aspect of the conception of “Chat Jet (Part 2) – Sculpture in Reflection” is how sculpture as a nevertheless ever present artistic form of expression can on the other hand distinguish and establish itself if it is exposed to these great media challenges. Anyone who works with sculpture today faces the questions of the sculptural means of representation, and actively and in an exemplary way promotes their constant re-development. The multifold work and analysis with the sheer infinite repertoire of forms, material, (art) histories and their availability, the diversity of relations and references in increasingly receding resolution from once clearly defined dependency relations between the carrier medium and art production (key word, the readymade in times of cheap, three-dimensional reproducibility by 3D printers) lead to important questions for the exhibition: what do these changes in network conditions of digital culture mean for objects generally, and how can sculpture remain relevant in a virtual world? In the process, however, always also repeatedly to come back to the basic questions of sculptural approaches of how something is made or formed, what artistic decisions have been taken and why the close observation of sculpture fosters the lasting desire to touch it, appears to be controversial and worth investigating here.<BR><BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 12px;text-decoration:underline;" >CMRK<BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 12px;" >On 5th of June from 6pm more openings by the network CMRK at the following four institutions for contemporary art in Graz: Camera Austria, Künstlerhaus KM–, Halle für Kunst & Medien, < rotor > and Grazer Kunstverein.
