<br>Die Ausstellung zeigt Arbeiten von zehn afrikanischen KünstlerInnen,
die schon seit einigen Jahren in Graz leben, bzw. denen Graz zur zweiten
Heimat geworden ist. Die ausgestellten Arbeiten einerseits geprägt
von den Wurzeln ihrer Heimatländer und deren Bilderwelt in der Mischung
von den hier in Österreich gewonnenen Eindrücken und der Moderne.
Ebenso als kreativen Brückenschlag zwischen Menschen aus verschiedenen
Ländern und Kontinenten im kreativen Austausch können die beiden
Filme betrachtet werden. "Agonyy of the beloved" von Fritz Aigner dokumentiert
ein Projekt des in Graz lebenden Künstlers Samson Ogiamien aus dem
Edo State, in Gedenken an verstorbenen AfrikanerInnen in der Steiermark.
"Crossing Fashion Niger" wiederum ist die Dokumentation einer kreativen
Zusammenarbeit von DesignerInnen aus Österreich und dem Niger (Stefan
Schmid, 2011). Alanam (Körpertheater, Regie Peter Ulrich), leistet
sehr sensible Theaterarbeit gemeinsam mit den afrikanischen SchauspielerInnen.
Situationen und psychische Befindlichkeiten, die sich mit dem "Space Between"
von MigrantInnen auseinandersetzen wurden bereits in fünf Produktionen
meisterhaft auf die Bühne gebracht.</div>
