In einem zweijährigen Prozess filterte Jirkuff die von ihr aus Zeitungen, Fernsehen und dem <br>Internet wahrgenommene Flut an Bildern und Informationen und macht ihre Eindrücke für das „Eigene“ <br>produktiv. Jirkuff bricht ein „Loch“ in die medial vermittelte Realität, durch das eine ungesehene, <br>vermeintlich nicht präsente Alltagswelt sichtbar wird. Dabei unterläuft Jirkuff die Mechanismen der <br>Massenmedien, indem Sie deren Bilder mit Zeichnungen in persönliche Momente übersetzt, diese <br>animiert und in Videos und Installationen wiederum in den medialen Kontext rückführt. <br><br>In drei wohnraumartigen filmischen Settings erklären die Protagonisten – der eher schlecht gelaunter<br>Künstler Mr. A, seine Nachbarin The Bitch und der Kurator Mr. C – ihren sentimental unterlegten <br>Micro-Kosmos zum allgemeinen Gesellschaftsgefühl. Im Rundgang durch die Ausstellung entwickelt sich <br>eine parallele Erzählung zwischen den auch etwas an eine Parabel auf den Kunstbetrieb erinnernden<br>Figuren, die letztlich im Gespräch ihr eigenes Privates nicht zu überschreiten vermögen. Regen <br>tropft auf die Fenster und lässt ein sentimentales Empfinden aufkommen, einen Blues, den Susi<br>Jirkuff in ihrer Bild-Welt nachhallen lässt. <br><br>Ein begleitender Katalog erscheint im Verlag für Moderne Kunst, Nürnberg. <br>--<br><br>Am 29.6.2012 eröffnen ab 18 Uhr zur jeweils vollen Stunde der Grazer Kunstverein, Camera Austria, <br>Kunstverein Medienturm und < rotor > ihre Ausstellungen, die an diesem Tag alle von 18 bis 22 Uhr<br>geöffnet sind. Ein kostenloser Bus-Shuttle wird bei der Wiener Oper um 15 Uhr bereitgestellt und fährt<br>um 23 Uhr von Graz retour. Over a two-year process, Jirkuff filtered the flood of information and images she encountered<br>in newspapers, on television, and on the Internet so as to utilise her impressions for her own purposes.<br>Jirkuff forces a "hole" into the reality transported by the media, thus making visible an unseen, <br>assumedly non-present everyday world. In the process, Jirkuff subverts the mechanisms of the mass <br>media by translating its images with drawings into personal moments; she animates these and feeds<br>the resulting videos and installations back into the media context. <br><br><span lang=EN-US>In three apartment-like cinematic settings, the protagonists – Mr. A., an artist in a rather bad mood, <br>his neighbour The Bitch, and the curator Mr. C. – are declaring their sentimental microcosmos to be a<br>general sentiment within society. </span>Touring through the exhibition, a parallel narration develops<br>between the figures – at times seeming to reflect a parable of the art scene – who ultimately fail to<br>transcend their own private world in their dialogue. Rain patters onto the windows and evokes<br>a sentimental feeling, a blues that Susi Jirkuff makes resonate in her image-world. <br><br>An accompanying catalogue is published in the publisher house Verlag für moderne Kunst, Nuremberg. <br>--<br><br>On June 29, 2012 beginning at 6 p.m., the Kunstverein Graz, Camera Austria, Kunstverein Medienturm <br>and< rotor > will host exhibition openings remaining open until 10 p.m. A free bus shuttle is provided, <br>departing from the Vienna Opera at 3 p.m., and returning the same day at 11 p.m. CMRK is a network of<br>four independent Graz-based non-profit institutions, whose common interest is the communication of <br>contemporary art within an international context. <br><br><br><o:p></o:p></p></div></body></html>
