<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 12pt; mso-pagination: none; mso-layout-grid-align: none"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: ArialMT; mso-bidi-font-family: ArialMT">Wie könnte es anders sein, dass auch in dieser Ausstellung dem Plakat – ein zentrales Ausdrucksmittel in der Kunst von Julius Deutschbauer – eine Rolle zugewiesen bekommt. Nach der Ausstellung „Nur 100 Plakate“ voriges Jahr im MAK, in der Julius Deutschbauer sein Plakatschaffen der letzten 15 Jahre präsentierte, ist das ein weiterer Versuch, das Plakat als Ausgangspunkt für neue Arbeiten zu nehmen. Aber das wäre ja nichts Neues. Das haben wir ja schon oft von ihm vorgeführt bekommen, als verfügte er über kein anderes Malmittel als das Plakat.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 12pt; mso-pagination: none; mso-layout-grid-align: none"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: ArialMT; mso-bidi-font-family: ArialMT">In seiner Ausstellung in der Galerie Ebensperger laufen zum ersten Mal beide Stränge seiner Arbeit – die Malerei und das Theater – zusammen. Er beginnt ganz klassisch mit Ölkreide auf Leinwand, zeichnet zwei hin und einen weg, nennt das transpressionistische Malerei bzw. Subtraktionsmalerei. Er beherrscht die Kunst des Weg besser als die des Hin. Am Ende kommen dabei scheinbar flüchtig hingemachte Leinwände, Zeichnungen, Skulpturen und Videos heraus. Aber er geht noch einen Schritt weiter. Nach Theaterproduktionen u.a. im Tanzquartier Wien, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Volksbühne Berlin, brut Wien kommt er in dieser Ausstellung, die einfach nur „Julius Deutschbauer“ heißt, auf das bewegte Tafelbild, bisher seine gelungenste Konstruktion, bildnerische und theatralische Arbeiten in einer zusammenzubringen. Bilder beginnen zu tanzen <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

Diese bewegten Tafelbilder haben einerseits Modellcharakter, in denen sich Deutschbauer selbst zum und als Modell nimmt, andererseits erleben wir in diesen Arbeiten die hohe Kunst von Deutschbauers mechanischen Automatenheathers. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
